AUSTIN — A North Texas woman accused of possession of a prohibited weapon for carrying a kitty key chain will not face criminal charges, the Denton County District Attorney's Office said Thursday.
Kyli Phillips, 22, was arrested in April 2018 after a traffic accident and slapped with the weapons charge after police found the key chain in her purse. These plastic self-defense items are popular with women but have been illegal for decades under a state law that bans brass knuckles.

So why have a paracord bracelet in your go bag or emergency kit if you take survival seriously. Here is a list of just a few uses:
1. Survival Bow and Arrows
If you're stuck in a survival emergency without food, a bow and arrow is a great way to take small game animals. You can build your archery equipment with a sharp fixed blade knife, a paracord bracelet, a flexible sapling, a few tree shoots for arrows, and a few feathers.
2. Make A Fire
The cord of a survival strap can make a suitable bow string for the bow-and-drill friction fire method.
An intact paracord bracelet used on a wrist or lower leg, or a section of strap cord used on the larger part of a limb, can and has been used in a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding.
4. Boot Laces
An unravelled bracelet can serve as a quick field replacement for a broken boot lace—or a burned boot lace.
Another way to get use out of a paracord bracelet is to tie up a shelter with it.
6. Fiction Saw
Used properly it pararcord cuts through thick plastic zip ties and duct tape like butter.
7. Snare Trap
Building a snare trap with paracord will help you catch small game and can be your key to staying fed in a survival situation.
8. Rock Sling
Will give you a backup weapon that doesn’t need bullets or arrows to work. Since ancient times, it is used for hunting and more prominently in warfare.
Thats why you should have the Best Survival Paracord Bracelet For Those Who Take Survival Serious.
Cleaning- Cleaning the blade after use is important to keeping your OTF functioning properly. Lightly rinse the blade with tap water and remove any residue that may be on it from your cutting job. Thoroughly dry the knife blade making sure no water is left. Once clean. Deploy and redeploy your blade. You can also apply a very light amount of gun oil to the blade making sure to polish it into. Do not put gun oil or any other liquid directly into the handle of your BOT OTF Knife. We also recommend using a damp towel to clean the handle on your RCT Knife.
If you want to clean out the inside of your knife, sometimes you can use a can of compressed air to blow out anything that’s trapped inside the OTF. Remember that dissembling your knife will void its warranty.
How Do I Tighten The Screws On My RCT OTF Knife Handle?Black Phantom Tactical recommends using the appropriate allen wrench to tighten any loose screws. Please use caution when doing so to not strip any screws in the process.
Sharpening – It’s easier to maintain a blade than to let it go completely dull and re-sharpen it later. You can typically use any sharpening system or style to get the job done.
Storage – OTFs can be stored open or closed. People generally store OTFs open if they are going to have them on display at home. If you’re storing your OTF opened, keep the blade clean and oiled, and be mindful that some steels rust more than others.
If the blade falls off track… OTFs are prone to falling off track. This can be remedied easily by manually pulling out the blade. There are two different ways you can do this:
1) Pinch the blade between your thumb and index finger and pull the blade out until it clicks into place. Then it should be back on track, and you can use the button to retract and fire the blade to your heart’s content.
2) Flick the knife and use the momentum of the blade to lock it into position.
In the summer of 1989, I started my journey as a young 19-year-old missionary for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Scotland for two years.
It was a big wake up call for a young man who had never been out of the country and then having to share his religious beliefs with complete strangers, cultures and other religions.
Some days it was could be very discouraging when doors were being slammed in your face, walking in the cold and rainy weather, or even being chased off by Church Of Scotland Ministers.
But no matter how discouraging it got, our mission motto "What e’er thou art, act well thy part" kept me going. So as a missionary, it was my duty to do my very best, act the very best and keep on going no matter what.
I think as a business owner, leader, father or whatever position or job we have, that we should strive to "act well our parts" and that whatever we do is important and that we do our very best at it.
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.’” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
